Welcome to the new school year!  I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your child’s new kindergarten teacher.  My name is Kimberly Sizemore.  I am married and have two daughters.  I graduated from Northern Arizona University in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  I also obtained my Master’s degree as a Reading Specialist through N.A.U. in December of 2008.  My hobbies include camping, fishing, swimming, and spending quality time with my family.  I am looking forward to getting to know each one of my students.  I hope that each of my students find their learning experience to be both challenging and exciting as we progress through the school year.  There are so many exciting things that our kindergartners will be learning this year and I encourage you to take part in your child’s learning experience inside, as well as outside of the classroom.

My name is Diane Poma and I am a kindergarten teacher. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself, both personally and professionally. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in psychology and went on to earn my teaching certificate from the state of Michigan. Before children I moved to Arizona and began my teaching career for Mesa Public Schools in kindergarten. After my first child was born, we moved back to Michigan. In Michigan we had another child. Eric and Daniel are now 29 and 27. When our children entered the school system, I went back to my career along with receiving my Master’s Degree plus 30 credits in the Art of Teaching. I taught for a total of 25 years in Michigan—preschool, first, second, and third grades. This will be my sixth year at San Tan Heights Elementary; five of the years in second grade. Teaching is where my heart is. It is more than just a job to me. It is a commitment I take very seriously. Children are our most important asset. My goal, my mission as a teacher, is to fully dedicate myself to helping your child reach his or her full potential this year by believing in themselves, to believe that they “CAN DO IT!” Also, that they are responsible individuals with choices.
