Dania Allen-Psychologist Room 41
Hello all! My name is Angelina Serrano and I am the Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) at San Tan Heights Elementary and San Tan Foothills High School. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and another in Speech and Hearing Science at Arizona State University. I am currently earning my Masters in Communication and Science Disorders at Northern Arizona University. Before I worked in the public school setting, I worked as an SLPA in both a clinical and home health setting. I enjoy working with toddlers, preschool, and school age children, and I believe in looking at each child as an individual and catering a therapy plan to fit that child's unique needs. I also encourage collaboration with other professionals, including occupational therapists, applied behavior therapists, reading specialists, and teachers to gain the most academic progress. This is my second year at San Tan Heights and I am looking forward to the year ahead as a Hawk!
Speech Room 12
Hi! My name is Erin Jankus. I grew up in the Chicago area and earned bachelors degrees in psychology, speech pathology and audiology from Purdue University. I went to graduate school at NAU in Flagstaff. I now live in the San Tan Heights neighborhood with my husband Jay, our son Cameron, our dog Layla and our very large desert tortoise Fred. I have been a speech pathologist for 16 years, and I have enjoyed every minute! I have worked in a variety of settings over the years: schools, clinics, hospitals, a camp for autistic children and in people's homes. I started my own therapy business called Play 2 Learn in 2010, and the name I chose is a great way to describe my philosophy when it comes to speech therapy: I believe that kids make the most progress when they are having fun. I want kids to get excited about coming to speech therapy, and I want them to feel challenged, inspired and confident as they work toward their goals. My best days are the days I get to spend with children. If more adults smiled, laughed and loved like children, this world would be a much happier place!
